Particle S G A B U Increasing scientific, technological and innovation capacity of Serbia as a Widening country
in the domain of multiscale modelling and medical informatics in biomedical engineering

The main aim of the Twinning action SGABU

The main aim of the Twinning action SGABU (Serbia, Greece, Austria, Belgium, United Kingdom) is to enhance research capacity and capabilities of University of Kragujevac (UKG) in the field of bioengineering, raise the research profile of its staff, improve networking activities and exchange through the collaboration with four research-intensive institutions: University of Ioannina, Greece, Technical University of Vienna, Austria, KU Leuven, Belgium and Coventry University, United Kingdom.

These four European universities are widely recognized as leaders in research in the field of multiscale modelling in the areas of bone, cancer, cardiovascular disease and tissue engineering, bioinformatics, sensor informatics, imaging informatics and public health informatics in biomedical engineering.

Education of students and Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) in these multidisciplinary scientific fields remains challenging in Serbia due to various factors such as limited resources, lack of qualified experts and trained staff.
